Practice

One Dance UK has collated what they say is a comprehensive list of online dance classes. It is a little overwhelming but helpfully laid out in calendar form and super handy if you are looking for a nice varied source of practices.

For a somatic and improvised approach, our friends at Independent Dance have gone online with their summer program and each artist is offering practice in individual and innovative ways.

Barrowland Ballet have released an audio movement class from their Associate Artist Aya Kobayashi, which includes soothing ambient music by Nicolette MacLeod.

NDCWales also now have a Digital Hub offering virtual performances, classes and resources.

Support

Equity’s benevolent fund may be a good source of financial support if you are a member.

The UK Government has now release an eligibility checker for their Self Employed Grant Scheme. By inputting your UTR and NI numbers you can see if you’ll be eligible and essentially get in the queue for news and funding. It will give you a date you can apply.

Opportunities

Arts Council Wales have released a call for creative practitioners able to work with young people to offer sessions online.

Interest

Writings on improvisation, contact and what it is in this situation are being shared by Contact Quarterly and they also invite submissions.
