Thank you so much to all who applied for our SEEDS Residency and made for a challenging selection process.

Introducing our selected SEED artists taking residence at Chapter December 10th – 15th: 

SHAKEERA AHMUN

‘My diverse upbringing has strongly influenced me to explore a sense of community and bond, through movement and music. I will portray these values of warmth and equality within the honesty of my movement vocabulary and character to create an ambience of togetherness. This solo will be part of a work in progress.’

 

LUKE DIVALL/NATALIE CORNE.

‘We are both dance artists. We have both recently moved to Cardiff. We are married to one another.  One of us is Welsh.  Neither of us have made work before.

We moved to Cardiff in the hope of creating.  We aren’t yet sure what that looks like, but it could be a number of things: dances, a home, friendships, collaborations, babies…

During the residency week we would like to spend time with each other in a context different to how we usually spend time with one another.  Having never made our own work, either individually or together, this will be the start of imagining and investigating what that might look like.

The plan is to approach this slowly. The plan is to not talk about the house or which contractor gave the best quote.  The plan is to move together, walk together, talk together and maybe come up with some new things we can do together.  The plan is to not fall out!’

Charlie Morrissey will be leading class at Chapter Stiwdio on Wed/Thurs/Fri 9.30-11am.

Join us for a sharing of the SEED artists week of developments, on SATURDAY 15th DECEMBER at 3pm, and join us for a CHRISTMAS SOCIAL at Chapter Bar/Cafe at 5pm. We’ll be celebrating the last 18 months of  ACW funding for our classes, workshops and events and have news of ACW funding decision on our application to continue into 2019/20!
