Leila is an international choreographer, teacher and performer who has worked with artists including David Zambrano, Crystal Pite, and Wendy Houstoun. She curated This Way, That Way (2015) at Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler’s Wells as part of Wild Card, to a sold out audience. Her newest work Family Portrait has been presented at Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler’s Wells, Greenwich Dance and Dance4.

Since receiving a place on David Zambrano’s 50 Days Flying Low and Passing Through (2010), Leila is now one of the few internationally certified artists teaching this technique, and has led the development of this approach in the UK. She is a guest Lecturer at London Contemporary Dance School and has gone on to teach throughout Europe, Middle East, United States and South America.

Leila is the winner of Blueprint Bursary 2008 and has recently created commissions for London Contemporary Dance School, No more landing (2016), and Verve, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Continuum (2017). She has an ongoing collaboration with visual artist Paolo Fiorientini producing a series of video, still images and installations under the project Envelop. She is the co-owner of Muxima, an independent art and culture café in Bow, East London, winner of ‘Best Café in Bow’ from Time Out London 2015 and 2016.
