Jo Fong is a director, choreographer and performer working in dance, film, theatre and the visual arts. She has been performing for over 25 years with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Rosas (Belgium) and Rambert Dance Company. Recent collaborations include productions with Wendy Houstoun, Deborah Light, Unfinished Business, Quarantine Theatre, Skye Reynolds and National Theatre Wales.
As an independent artist she has toured her choreographic work throughout the UK and international venues. Jo is currently touring her show An Invitation… The piece was selected for both British Council Edinburgh Showcase 2015 and British Dance Edition 2016. An Invitation… was born out of open studio events called The Audience. The investigation is about connection, conversation and communication. This creative process continues to bring people together through performances and workshops.
Jo’s working practice is an evolving, interactive and a playful approach. Play has become the very nature of how Jo approaches her body, her voice, her performance roles and her making processes.
