Open call: Groundwork are delighted to offer three paid residencies to Wales based dance/movement artists, for completion in May/June 2020.

Given the current situation, we anticipate that these creative projects will be undertaken either in your home or immediate surroundings whilst adhering to current government advice. Having said that we want to make them as connected as three ‘isolated’ residencies can be, and invite artists to work with a mentor (who does not have to be Wales based), as well as communicate with us and with the other artists throughout your project.

The work can take many forms; we want it to be shaped by you and your current artistic enquiries. It does not need to be product driven, but can be if that is relevant to you. It is a chance for each artist to develop and explore their practice and to be supported in doing so. We ask that each artist consider how they might share their residency with the wider community taking into account current restrictions (ie writing, video, live online screening / sharing…?)

If you would like to collaborate with another Wales based artist and can clearly outline how this would work safely and effectively, you may apply for two of the three funds in a joint application – in this case we would expect both voices to be clearly present in the application.

Each artist will receive £500 as a fee and will be allocated £100 towards a mentor of your choice. If you would like support in contacting and engaging this mentor let us know.

The projects must be completed by mid June, but within that the work can be structured in any way that suits you, we ask that you consider and propose a timeline that is realistic and supportive to your current needs and situation.
