Making Music: Reboot
Led By Suzy Willson and Paul Clark
In partnership with Cardiff Dance Festival and Wales Millennium Centre
For over 20 years, Suzy Willson and Paul Clark, artistic directors of Clod Ensemble, have collaborated to create a unique body of performance work which blends original music and movement.
In this day-long workshop, Suzy and Paul will share some of the principles that underpin their work and some exercises which explore the relationship between movement and music. In theatre, dance, opera and film music is used in myriad ways – to heighten intensity, to emotionally manipulate, as wallpaper, or to be the structure of the piece. In this session, which features music by Bach, Carl Stalling, Miles Davis, Purcell, Ray Charles, Stravinsky and music from some of Clod Ensemble’s recent shows, we explore how what we see is fundamentally affected by what we hear.
Reboot: Moving Music is part of Clod Ensemble’s free to attend artist development programme.
If you are interested in taking part, please send your CV and an expression of interest to reboot@clodensemble.com by 10am on Monday 6 November.
Clod Ensemble’s Under Glass runs from 22 to 25 November in the Weston Studio at Wales Millennium Centre.
