NDCWales are offering five places per week, for independent dance artists to participate in the LABORATORI as movers.

Free of charge

LABORATORI dates: 24th – 28th June & 1st – 5th July

This year NDCWales will be hosting a new Laboratori programme that brings together artists from the company and from the independent dance sector in Wales to test new choreographic ideas and ways of working. The Laboratori will offer these participants mentorship and stimulus to evolve and extend their usual ways of working.

Dates and mentors for the Laboratori will be: Week one: 24 – 28th June Lea Anderson (founder of iconic dance groups, The Cholmondeleys and of The Featherstonehaughs) Week two: 1- 5th July Éric Minh Cuong Castaing (Artistic Director of Shonen, a French company that works with dance, new technology and a diversity of performers).

Alongside those selected to participate as choreographers, NDCWales are inviting independent dance artists to attend the Laboratori as movers. There are up to five places available each week.  This is a chance to attend Laboratori free of charge, to take class each morning and to support the choreographers involved under the mentorship of Lea Anderson and Éric Minh Cuong Castaing.

This is open to people who’ve completed professional training and who have experience of participating in a variety of choreographic processes. Up to five places for movers are available each week. To sign up, please email info@ndcwales.co.uk with:
1. A brief outline of your dance experience
2. The week(s) you wish to attend
3. Put the subject heading as ‘Laboratori Application’ in the email.
Any questions, please email info@ndcwales.co.uk

If you want to attend as a mover and if you incur costs that would be a barrier to participation you can apply to Groundwork’s access fund.

An access fund is available for Wales based artists who may need assistance with travel, accommodation, childcare, costs associated with disabled access or other costs incurred.
