Dancing is a serious game.

Dancing is the most important thing in the world, it is also completely irrelevant.
Deborah combines rigorous attention with pleasure, dancing is a serious game.
In class, rules for this game are offered, through improvisational tasks and
frameworks for moving alone, in partners and as an interdependent group. We
initiate movement through bones, soft tissue, skin and space to activate the
senses and the body. We pay attention to functionality and flow, size and speed,
directions and connections. This work supports the dancer in deepening
perceptiveness of their own dancing body, enhancing choice and range in their
own dancing.

Class is open to all with some movement experience. The work is rigorous in
attention without holding expectations of the forms that will emerge. Pleasure is
always a priority.
