Live Physical  Practice with Jake Nwogu, 11.30 – 12.30pm

This practice is suitable for those with some movement experience and experienced movement practitioners/dancers

Creature Movement

There are stories to be told or read into whenever the body moves. Drawing from the
experiences of training and then retraining in various dance styles, and creature and
motion capture work in the film and games industries, this class looks at how the use
of weight and breath can change the intention behind movement. Whether you are
looking to create creatures like Gollum, zombies and robots, or you are just looking
to find a new way of moving, you’ll find this class changes the way you think about
movement.

When joining online workshops on Zoom:

  • Set up: prepare a place in your home where you can move, and where you can be seen.
  • You will need a clean, uncluttered space where you can lie on the floor. The class will be adapted for domestic spaces: living rooms and such spaces are fine!
  • We ask that you “mute” yourself at all times, unless you are asked to verbally participate.
  • Use the chat function to communicate with the class and/or teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Participants will undertake the activity at their own risk and will be responsible for their own safety while taking part in these classes; Groundwork will not be responsible.
