A dynamic, holistic and technical class, exploring of the breath/pelvis/spine moving in relation to the senses, our physical environment and the metaphysical space of earth and sky. Drawing strongly on Graham- based principles and Laban methodologies to get from ‘innermost’ to ‘outermost’ in the space of an hour and a half by attending to technical, structural, expressive, communal and sensorial systems of organising our dancing selves.

I am really interested in moving and being as well as dancing, but definitely the dancing.  My class is built from formal techniques meeting individuals and form meeting function. I use exercises that can be floor based, simple, paired, rooted, witnessed, mobile, travelling, detailed, musical, silly, or expressive or a combination of these drivers. It is clear and immersive class that gives space for people to follow their own stamina and curiosity,  to enable a pleasurable dialogue with what can be and can’t be in your control that day. You are invited to participate in a way that suits you with a healthy disregard for ideas that hold you back.

Live Physical Practice is donation based. If you have income at the moment donations are welcome but we do not expect payment from freelancers whose income has been disrupted by COVID 19.

If access issues due to e.g. a disability are a barrier to you being able to join Groundwork classes please contact groundworkprocardiff@gmail.com to discuss your requirements confidentially
