In partnership with Cardiff Dance Festival 2019, we are pleased to announce that Rosalind Crisp will be coming to the UK to deliver a two day workshop in Cardiff.

choreographic improvisation

Rosalind Crisp will share practical tools for dancers to compose in real time from and with the materiality of their own bodies. The body is prepared by undoing tension and unquestioned patterns. Breath, weight and sensation are prioritised. In a responsive dialogue with the proprioceptive feedback from the body and rigorous compositional parameters, the dancer is given agency to guide herself. Structures for watching bring attention to the continual emergence of the dance in a porous relationship with another dancer-witness.
