Matt leads a sensory class, rooted in recognition of the body as both animal and playful. Class offers ways to connect with our natural ‘inner’ capacity to find smooth, functional and flowing movement patterns, while maintaining an ‘outer’ contact with our environment & other people.

Time is given to finding and developing new ways of moving – through tasks, partner-work, and short sequences – working with elemental visualisation.

Dancers will recognise elements of floorwork, contact improvisation, and gentle aspects of acrodance  – and will find new pathways and tasks to feed and challenge their physical practice.
Emphasis is always on grounded, centred movement rooted through intelligent use of the spine, legs, and core – allowing a lightness and flow to emerge. Particular attention is given to moving softly while still remaining open to  using a dynamic movement vocabulary.

Live Physical Practice is donation based. If you have income at the moment donations are welcome but we do not expect payment from freelancers whose income has been disrupted by COVID 19.

If access issues due to e.g. a disability are a barrier to you being able to join Groundwork classes please contact to discuss your requirements confidentially
