DATE CHANGE – NOW TODAY, FRIDAY 25th!!!

10.30-11.30 am, Thompsons Park, Cardiff

email groundworkprocardiff@gmail.com to let us know you’re coming

2 meters – A meeting

Offered by Deborah Light

Imagine if the 2m distancing rule was a choreographic tool…….. a framework through which to encounter each other, interact, respond, sense, feel and move.

This is an invitation to join me in Thompsons Park and follow the score offered below. The invitation is:
to meet In Real Life,
to find yourself in relation to others,
to move with autonomy (as little or as much and in a way that you choose)
to dance a little – together

The score is intentionally minimal so that we can all hold it in our memories and move through it non-verbally.  You might want to have a watch or phone with you and/or set alarms to prompt your journey through the score, (we might not always be visible to each other).

Turn right on entering Thompsons Park from Romilly Road and gather on the lower field behind Bloc (the coffee shop).

10.30   A meeting:
A moment to greet each other, I will recap the score and can answer any questions.
Do what you need – physically finding yourself – acknowledging that we are together.

10.45   A constellation:
Moving in space and finding places to rest in relation to each other.
Using speed, space, directions to activate the connections between us.

11.00   A journey: From the lower park up to the top field
Finding yourself in relation to others as you journey through the landscape.

11.15   A dance together: On the top field
Moving towards and away from each other with different parts of ourselves.
This is a game.

11.30   A chat: stay if you wish.

Choreographic rules are usually there to be broken, however we ask that you abide by the 2 meter distancing rule and do not attend if you are unwell or display any symptoms of Covid 19.

This is open to anyone with some movement experience.

Booking is essential, if you would like to attend send an email to groundworkprocardiff@gmail.com with your name and phone number.
